Adulthood:
After Mexican soldiers murdered Geronimo's family, Geronimo took off into the wilderness to enact revenge upon the Mexicans. It is said that this is when he heard a voice tell him that no bullet would ever kill him. Geronimo gathered an army of 200 men and went in search of the Mexicans who murdered his family. Authorities finally caught up to Geronimo in 1877 and sent him to the San Carlos Apache reservation. Geronimo escaped the reservation in 1881, he then started fighting the U.S. in one of the final Indian wars. Finally, in 1887, Geronimo and his Apaches were captured and bounced between different prisons for the years after.
